Green Lake relies on people to make our dreams a reality. Since our first season in 1944, this is a place where people have come to experience a closer walk with God and to be inspired by great Christian leaders including Martin Luther King Jr., Leighton Ford and Philip Yancey. One of the many ways you can participate in God's ministry at Green Lake Conference Center is by volunteering or bringing a work group.
Skills, interests and experience in specific areas of need is helpful, as well as good physical health and stamina to carry out tasks. Most volunteers serve at least four weeks; many serve three or more months. Modest housing is provided as well as an outstanding work environment and community with over 75 other engaging volunteers who love to plan fun outings and activities! Volunteer Brochure

Frequently asked questions about volunteering:
- How many volunteers serve at Green Lake?
We have around 100 volunteers that serve every year. Many come back year after year to bring a spirit of warm service to our guests and our volunteer community. - When during the year are volunteers needed?
Our busiest times of the year are May – October. Sometimes we can use volunteers earlier and later than that. - What time commitment is required?
We prefer our volunteers to be able to commit to four weeks minimum, working 30-40 hours per week, depending on the assignment. Many volunteers are here for most of the summer. - Does GLCC offer benefits?
Do you mean besides the beautiful views and fellow volunteer community? While GLCC does not provide payment, volunteers are able to take advantage of regular staff discounts for meals, golf, programs, on-grounds stores, and other activities. We also have a seasonal calendar of events which bring our volunteer community together for pot-lucks, movie nights, visits to local attractions, Bible Study night etc. Volunteers that have a seasonal on-grounds trailer home are entitled to discounts on their site rental. - Where will I stay?
GLCC provides free housing for volunteers. These range from shared housing or apartments to having sites available for RV hookups. Most housing units are air conditioned (not all), so you may want to bring a fan. You will need a car to get around the grounds because the volunteer housing is located away from the conference center area. We are only 10 minutes away from grocery, laundromat and retail stores. - What kind of jobs do you have?
Maintenance, greenhouse/grounds/flowers, arts & crafts (ceramics, lapidary, stained glass), gift shop clerks, camp store clerks, food service (dining room, Ollie's Place) and office assistants. - Are there any general requirements? Good physical and mental stamina is necessary for almost any work area. Being a volunteer also requires good interpersonal skills and a desire to “Serve the one in front of you in Jesus’ Name.”
- How do I sign up? What is the selection process like?
Submit an application above or contact Brenda Morrell (BrendaMorrell@glcc.org). Most selections are made by the end of December for the following year.
